More watercolour jubilation!!!
This time I used a minuscule sponge and masking fluid on the character for the green in the background, and managed to refrain the impulse to cover every part of the picture with color.
I usually enjoy so much using my paints that, when doing personal work, I merrily keep adding, and adding and adding layers of brightness and beautifulness... and I end up with a filled-with-love-but-muddy result quite far from my original intention :)
This time I happy with the result. Though next time I'll try to get more of a Xmas feeling in the color scheme maybe.
Yesterday's drawing was reminding me of Manu Arenas... this one made me think of Kei Acedera whose ibook I download a while ago on my iphone, along with other books from ArtistSketchbooks. The Imaginism/Schoolism team really came up with awsome ideas and initiatives these past few years...
I am seriously starting to think about Xmas, and i am starting watercolour on the subject.
First of the thirtheen traditional provencal Christmas desert: pears.
Adding some photoshop on top of the watercolour: Linear Burn and ... 
..Divide. This last version somehow reminded me of Manu Arenas work on Yacin... I love the book by the way: have you read it? Ideal for a Christmas present u_u click here to order it on amazon.fr :)

It's been a while hasn't it been? Roast chestnut's autumn is slowy fading into marron glacé's winter, and here is a watercoloured image I did for a fairytale about love and the invention of silk.
Un peu d'aquarelle pour un retour en douceur sur la blogoshpere... Voilà une image que j'ai fait pour un recueil d'histoires paru chez Fleurus.
Il est ici question d'amour et d'invention de la soie. Et le fil du vers à soie est fait en drawing gum.

Comme je suis bien dans mon nouvel atelier d'illustratrice...
Je me suis remise pour de bon aux mediums traditionnels. Ici, deux bouts d'images réalisées pour une brochure.

I'm definitely back to traditional mediums for now. Here are two bits of images done for a booklet.
Youpi! Je suis de retour après une trop longue parenthèse, et toujours partisane de la circulation du savoir... Voila un W.I.P. d'illustration à la gouache réalisée pour une histoire de Toboggan. La gouache c'est délicat et ça me foutait la trouille. Je ne me serais jamais lancée avant d'avoir l'excellent livre de Rob Howard Gouache For Illustration... oui il est introuvable et m'a couté un rein, mais ça en valait la peine, parce qu'il explique les petites astuces indispensables à la bonne maitrise du medium.
J'ai utilisé de la Talens, qui me correspond bien mieux que la Linel dont on fait pourtant tout un foin, ou que la W&N, qui est quand meme chouette, mais moins que la Talens.

I was scared to venture into traditional technique by myself, and wouldn't have put myself to it without the support of the excellent Rob Howard's book Gouache for Illustration
Yes it was very difficult to find it and was expensive, but it was worth it because it's full of usefull tips and techniques that you cant' really learn anywhere these days.
I used Talens gouache. I love it. (people from Talens, feel free to send me some samples for saying that :) )
En premier le dessin... 
Puis j'ai commencé par le contour, et j'ai rempli la veste 
Puis j'ai continué dans ma lancée... 
Et voila pour la phase tradi... J'ai changé la couleur de la branche sur l'ordi.
Le bureau...
Et voilà... c'est la fin du mois d'août.
J'ai tenu parole, et ai publié un post par jour! victoire!
Il y a des choses que je n'ai pas eu le temps de faire: je voulais aller faire plus de croquis, proposer à des gens de me rejoindre, avancer en peinture.
Mais je suis super contente d'avoir pu tenir le rythme :D
Et j'ai découvert de nouveaux amis de blog, ce qui m'a bien réjoui.
Here we are... this is the last day of August. I was as good as my word and published a post a day all this month long.
There were things i didn't had time to do: i wanted to go out and sketch more, to ask some people to join me in the process, to keep on gouache painting...
But as a whole i'm very glad i was able to keep the pace :D
And i was very happy to meet new blog-friends!
Merci à tous ceux qui ont commenté régulièrement mes dessins tout au long du mois. Ca m'a fait très plaisir et m'a bien encouragé à publier mon dessin quotidien.
Pour tous les autres lecteurs, les Anonymes et les Discrets c'est le moment de me laisser un petit mot... allez allez ne soyez pas timides (mais les autres vous pouvez y aller aussi :))
